We all strive for happiness in our own ways. many of us think we can find it in knowledge, education, marriage, children, or the social and financial status we achieve.
There are many theories on the subject, but most will agree that enjoyable relationships, a good work environment, self-growth and fulfillment provide happiness in life.
Well-balanced people know that they cannot expect to be happy all the time
, but they enjoy the happy times as they occur.
There are valuable payoffs in being happy. Research has shown that happy people live longer with quality of life, enjoy good relationships with their life partner, they tend to be more affluent and enjoy the respect and appreciation of others.
Happiness is never a constant everlasting experience. We all have our 'ups' and 'downs.' However, happy people can see past the 'ups' and 'downs' and still experience some degree of happiness.
Some people project their happiness goals into the future.....
- When the kids leave the house, we will be happy.
- When I retire, we will really start living and be happy.
You must choose your own path towards happiness. And although there no precise formulas for happiness, a positive attitude, an optimistic view of life and an appreciation of the small enjoyments in life will be helpful to anyone in the pursuit of happiness.
